Death on the High Rise

Death on the High Rise is a murder mystery. The two Blood Brothers investigate the death of one of Billy's Inspectors in Norfolk, Virginia where he is the Building Official. The construction project is being built by his brother, Zachary Martin.

Imad, an Arab-American is building a highrise building when the unexplained death brings the project to a halt. The authorities call it a terrible accident. 

Corruption, deceit, confession, thrilling action, and a crippling loss follow Billy and Zach as they assemble a team to save not only Imad's building but the lives of everyone they hold dear.

Death on the High Rise, the second novel in the Blood Brothers Series,  probes the consequences of obfuscating the truth, while the enigmatic Padre Juan serves as our collective conscience to help one penitent soul find redemption, one who may represent us all!

Characters

Padre Juan

Padre Juan is a mystifying and timeless Franciscan priest whose profound wisdom and understanding of the human soul offer redemption and guidance to those grappling with their past, casting him as a pivotal source of solace and spiritual enlightenment.

Billy Woods

Billy Woods, a young African American man whose life is marked by the early loss of his family and adoption by Zachery Woods' parents, forges an unbreakable bond with Zachery through blood brotherhood and shared wartime experiences.

Billy is nw the Building Official in Norfolk, Virginia in charge of overseeng a highrise building cinstructed by his brother, Zachary Martin.

Lawrence Newton

Lawrence Newton is an older engineer, only recently becoming registered as a professional engineer. He serves as the Special Inspector on the Burj Norfolk, watching structural work by BeeVee Squared.  Lawrence is motivated to succeed in any way he can and is the unwitting focus of Phillip Walker, project developer who wants to save a penny nhere and there.

Zachary Martin

Zachary Martin is a complex character whose life is intertwined with his blood brother Billy Woods from their shared childhood in New Mexico to their joint career in construction, marred by a haunting wartime incident that brings enduring regret, despite discovering his guilt may be unfounded.

Imad

Imad Nasir is a young Arab-American financial whiz with roots in UAE. His Uncle died, leaving his considerable estate which he uses to build a highrise building in his honor.

Zachary Martin

Zachary Martin is a complex character whose life is intertwined with his blood brother Billy Woods from their shared childhood in New Mexico to their joint career in construction, marred by a haunting wartime incident that brings enduring regret, despite discovering his guilt may be unfounded.

Zachary now runs BeeVee Squared with his Father-in-Law, Bartolome Valles retired. 

Molly Blake

Molly Blake is a thirty something project superintendent for BeeVee Squared with a strong command presence. Molly is also a gay woman in a man's world. She has misgivings about the accidental death on her project and enlists a new friend, Candy Kaine, reporter for a local newspaper to investigate.
